Louisiana Teen Readers Choice Voting / African American History Month
The students of WJHS exercised their right to vote and commemorated some famous and not so famous African Americans recently. The students voted for their favorite Louisiana Teen Readers’ Choice titles at a voting party on January 31st. They ate pizza and played a LTRC themed bingo for prizes.
During the entire month of February, students participated in the African American History Trivia Challenge. Students who answered the daily trivia questions first and correctly at their lunch periods had their names placed in a drawing for a Grand Prize. This year’s winners were Dailah Toney and Bradley Gayton.
On the horizon for the month of March, the library will commemorate Women’s History Month and Teen Tech Week.
