Flag Football
Girls flag football has gained significant traction in recent years, particularly as it has grown into an official sport in several states. In its second year, the development of girls flag football has seen notable milestones, expanding its reach, participation, and competitive levels.
Major sports organizations, such as the NFL, have continued to back girls flag football. The NFL Flag program, in particular, has created partnerships with schools and organizations to promote the sports.
Flag football's continued success points toward a bright future, where the sport could become a permanent fixture in high school and collegiate athletics across the country. The Bucs are looking forward to competing in their second year, in partnership with the New Orleans Saints.
JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates)
JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) is a career readiness, college preparedness, leadership and life skills course that prepares students for the transition from high school to employment and/or post-secondary education. Through its holistic and project-based learning curriculum, students are able to hone soft skills, professional etiquette, character and leadership development and communication skill-sets to obtain and sustain employment or earn acceptance into a college or vocational program after graduation. Embedded in the program are also community service and work-based learning opportunities, which teaches students how to be responsible, caring and contributing individuals to society.
Library Clubs
The library hosts two clubs: Anime Book Club and Craft Club.
The Anime Book Club discusses different manga and anime. Members discuss what themes and characters they enjoy, and recommending different titles to each other.
The Craft Club is primarily focused on crochet. Members will learn how to crochet and how they can use those skills to create different projects like accessories, clothes, and stuffed animals.

PBIS
Ms. Drake is honored to announce her new role in the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) organization at West Jefferson High School. Being part of this transformative initiative fills her with pride, as it truly reflects the belief that "it takes a village" to nurture and guide our students toward success. She is proud to contribute to a system that focuses not only on rewarding positive behavior but also on providing students with the tools and guidance they need to make better choices. As we work together to cultivate respect, responsibility, and resilience, we reinforce the idea that each member of our village has a critical role to play in shaping the future of our students.
